Asigarh Fort, also called Hansi Fort, stands on a mound on the eastern edge of Hansi and was historically a centre of sword-making, giving it the name 'Fort of Swords'. Additions were made by Prithviraj Chauhan in the 12th century, and it was long regarded as one of the strongest forts of the region. It has been a centrally protected monument since 1937.
