Shri Ambika Devi Mandir, popularly the Bhawani Amba Temple, is one of the oldest shrines in Ambala City, dedicated to the goddess Amba (Durga). The city of Ambala is widely believed to derive its name from this deity. The octagonal shrine with a red-and-gold dome was patronised by the rulers of Jind state in the 18th century.
