Bir Shikargah Wildlife Sanctuary covers about 767 hectares of Shivalik foothill forest near Pinjore. Formerly a hunting ground ('shikargah'), it now protects sambar, chital, nilgai, leopard and a rich birdlife. It is contiguous with the wider Shivalik forest belt and used for eco-tourism and nature study.
