The Gandhi Seva Ashram in Palwal commemorates Mahatma Gandhi's first imprisonment on Indian soil, when he was arrested at Palwal railway station on 10 April 1919 during the anti-Rowlatt Act agitation. Established as a memorial in 1938, the ashram houses a Gandhi museum and exhibition opened in 1962. It stands close to the railway station.
