Jal Mahal is a palace built around 1590-91 by Shah Quli Khan, the governor of Narnaul under Akbar, in the centre of an artificial lake known as Khan Sarovar. It has a square central chamber with four corner chambers and is crowned by an octagonal cupola and hemispherical dome. It stands in the southern part of Narnaul, the headquarters of Mahendragarh district.
