The fort at Jind was built around 1775 by Sidhu Jat ruler Raja Gajpat Singh, who made the town the capital of Jind State. Constructed of Lakhauri bricks, the structure is now largely ruined with only a bastion (burj) surviving, and it is among the monuments earmarked for state-funded restoration.
