Naurangabad, about 10 km east of Bhiwani, is a roughly 59-acre archaeological mound identified with the ancient town of Nakanagar of the Yaudheya republic. Excavations have yielded coins, coin-moulds, seals, terracottas and remains of a fortified township spanning the Indo-Greek, Kushana and Gupta eras.
