Rakhigarhi, spread across the villages of Rakhi Khas and Rakhi Shahpur, is among the largest known Harappan (Indus Valley) sites, with occupation from roughly 2600-1900 BCE and earlier pre-Harappan phases. Excavations have revealed planned streets, drainage, pottery, seals and burials, and ancient-DNA studies here have drawn international attention. An on-site museum interprets the finds.
