Shahjahan ki Baoli, popularly called Choron ki Baoli, is a stepwell built in 1658-59 CE by Saidu Kalal, a courtier of Emperor Shah Jahan, in the historic town of Maham (Meham). Built of lakhauri bricks and kankar blocks, it descends through 101 steps in three tiers to a water reservoir. The town of Maham itself preserves layers of history from the Indus Valley period through the Mughal era.
