The Sugh Ancient Mound, on the old flood-plain of the Yamuna near Jagadhri, is identified with the ancient city of Srughna described by the Chinese pilgrim Xuanzang. Excavations have yielded pottery, coins, seals and terracotta figurines dating from about 600 BCE to 300 CE, spanning Buddhist, Hindu and Jain associations. It lies about 3 km southeast of the Chaneti stupa.
