The Ther (or Theh) Mound in Sirsa is an extensive archaeological mound rising up to about 15 metres and several kilometres in circumference. It is believed to cover the remains of the ancient town of Sarishika, mentioned in the Mahabharata and other early texts, from which Sirsa's name is derived. Surface finds of sculptures, coins and pottery confirm its long history, though it remains largely unexcavated.
