Tomb of Ibrahim Lodhi

Panipat, Haryana

This tomb marks the resting place of Ibrahim Lodhi, the Delhi sultan defeated and killed by Babur in the First Battle of Panipat in 1526. The rectangular grave stands on a raised brick platform that the British relocated and fitted with an inscribed plaque in 1866 during construction of the Grand Trunk Road. It sits within a small park near the old tehsil in central Panipat.
